A
unique opportunity to participate in educating our world, especially
our youth, about our fragile and diminishing underwater ecosystem
by participation in an Educational Presentation by famed oceanographer
Jean-Michel Cousteau.
The Cousteau Educational Expedition Documentary "SAVING
THE CORAL REEF" introduces the underwater wonders to a
group of inexperienced students, providing them with a once in a
lifetime adventure exploring the fragile coral reefs off the coast
of Florida. Schoolbooks come to life as the multicultural students
first learn to snorkel at the International Swimming Hall of Fame
then join Cousteau in exploring our blue planet. Teens come to realize
not only the beauty of earth's final frontier but also learn the
critical role they play in preserving and protecting the world's
endangered coral reefs. The program also follows the students on
an educational canoe trip through the Florida mangroves with scientists
from the Cousteau Institute.
"SAVING
THE CORAL REEFS" is produced by Jean-Michel
Cousteau Productions in association with two-time Emmy Award
winner Robyn Symon of Symon Productions. The program recently received
a grant from the PROJECT AWARE Foundation;
sponsored by DEMA, the largest Divers
Association and is supported by Reef
Relief, providing exclusive time lapsed footage of damaged
reefs.
